HP LaserJet 1200 Series

HP LaserJet 1200 Series
When you first apply power to the printer the motor should turn for a couple of seconds. If it does you may not have a motor error but something else. If the motor does not turn, remove the toner cartridge close the cover and turn on the printer again to see if the motor turns. If it does your toner cartridge may be binding the motor and should be replaced. Also with the toner cartridge removed look for any obstruction which will prevent the gears from turning. Now if the motor turns, here is something you can do. Open the left side cover. Just grab in back and pull away from the printer. It should come off with a little pulling and back and forth motion. On the left side is the formatter. With the power OFF remove the flat ribbon cables which go to the formatter and then reinsert them. Turn the printer on and see if it works.
